Donate Your Used Books!
You are invited to support Senator Shirley K. Turner's literacy initiative by donating gently used children's books to be distributed to underserved children in the City of Trenton. With the closing of four public libraries in our capital city and more than 70 percent of children testing below grade level in reading, Senator Turner has made it her mission to put more books in the hands and homes of our children.
"Today a reader, tomorrow a leader."
Thanks to the generous donations of used books from the community, Senator Turner has given away more than 10,000 books to Trenton school students. This year's book fair, themed "Dive Into Reading," will be held on Monday, June 11, at two locations: Hedgepeth-Williams Middle School and P.J. Hill Elementary School. If you have books you'd like to donate, they can be delivered to the legislative office at 1230 Parkway Avenue, Ewing, NJ 08628. If you have any questions, please call the office at (609) 323-7329.
